| Rev. Rick Carter |
 Rev. Rick Carter, Minister of Music and Pastoral Care, came to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in August, 2004. Rick is a graduate of Gardner-Webb College in Boiling Springs, NC, now Gardner Webb University, in 1974 with a bachelors degree in Music, with an emphasis in Church Music. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas before moving to Wake Forest and completing the Master of Religious Education degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
During this time, Rick has served churches in North Carolina and Texas in various combinations of service, including music, youth, education and pastoral ministries.
Joyce, Rick’s wife serves in many areas of church ministry. Professionally, she is a Speech Pathologist working primarily with adults. Joyce also works in the area of real estate as a broker for a local agency.
Their son, Jacob, is a student at North Raleigh Christian Academy. Rick also has two other sons, Nathan living in Charlotte and Seth and his wife, Leslie, who live in Fuquay-Varina with their young daughter, Aubrey.
